Melvin Songwe Shuye holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Yaoundé II Soa. He currently serves as the Vice President of the National Executive Bureau of the Cameroon National Youth Council and is the organizer of the Engage4Peace festival. His academic background has significantly influenced his perspective on global issues.

As a committed youth activist, entrepreneur, volunteer, and passionate advocate for social justice, Melvin has made notable contributions to his community. Formerly the CEO of the United Youths Organization (UYO), he now serves as its Executive Officer and Programs Manager.

Key Roles and Achievements:

  • Project Manager for the United Nations Women / Central Emergency Fund Project in UYO, and the UN Women / Japan project with UYO from 2021 to 2023.
  • Board Member of the Multipurpose Youth Empowerment Center, appointed by the Governor of the North West Region in 2013 and again in 2018.
  • Principal Deputy Speaker of the African Youth Parliament (2016-2020).
  • Coordinator of the Faith in the Commonwealth Trainers Network in Cameroon, elected by the Faith in the Commonwealth Alumni in 2018.
  • Pioneer of the Empowerment and Mentorship Conference for Girls in 2018. He is also a writer and peace advocate.
  • Appointed Junior Entrepreneur Consultant in early 2021 by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, serving as a legal consultant for the three-year special youth plan initiated by the Head of State.
  • CEO of Smart Solutions Company, dedicated to creating a trusted entrepreneurial hub for young people.
