On September 28, 2024, the Cameroon National Youth Council (CNYC) and the HWPL Global Branch 04 partnered to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the September 18th HWPL World Peace Summit. The event, held at Hotel Jouvence International in Yaoundé, gathered around 150 participants, including CNYC members, HWPL representatives, and media personnel. The theme of the summit was “Civil Society's Efforts to Spread the Spirit of Peace.”

The event kicked off with a warm introduction outlining the significance of the summit. Ndoh Ida Pih, Personal Assistant to the National President of CNYC, delivered an inspiring keynote speech, emphasizing CNYC's ongoing efforts to promote peace and peace education across Cameroon. She highlighted the council’s deep commitment to empowering the youth to be active agents in fostering peace in their communities.

The summit's key objectives were:

  1. Commemorating the Anniversary: Marking 10 years of the HWPL World Peace Summit and reflecting on the global desire for peace.

  2. Reflecting on Achievements: Highlighting peace initiatives undertaken in Cameroon over the past year, including a successful peace march held in partnership with HWPL on May 25, 2024.

  3. Presenting HWPL Peace Education: Introducing peace education as a practical initiative to cultivate a culture of peace, particularly among the youth.

One of the keynote speakers, Madame E. Lee, underscored the importance of peace education beginning at the family level. She emphasized that the values of harmony, understanding, and peaceful coexistence should be nurtured within the home, forming the foundation for a broader societal movement toward peace.

Throughout the program, attendees were engaged with impactful speeches, including a video address from the HWPL Chairman, and a presentation on HWPL Peace Education, underscoring the role of youth in advocating for peace.

The event was not only a commemoration but also a call to action. One of the main expected outcomes was to empower youth to actively participate in peace-building and to amplify their voices globally through media channels. Additionally, the summit aimed to establish an annual peace movement, bringing together diverse local and international stakeholders committed to fostering peace.

HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light), founded in 2013, is an international peace organization with a mission to achieve world peace and the cessation of war. With a presence in over 170 countries, HWPL works tirelessly through peace advocacy, interfaith harmony, and education. The CNYC, established in 2009, plays a vital role in empowering Cameroon's youth and promoting peace through its vast network of over 4,000 members.

As the event concluded, the CNYC reaffirmed its dedication to working closely with HWPL and other organizations to engage youth in peace initiatives. Together, these organizations continue to build a more peaceful Cameroon and contribute to global unity.

Le 28 septembre 2024, le Conseil National de la Jeunesse du Cameroun (CNJC) et la branche mondiale HWPL 04 se sont associés pour commémorer le 10e anniversaire du Sommet mondial pour la paix du 18 septembre HWPL. Cet événement, qui s'est tenu à l'Hôtel Jouvence International à Yaoundé, a réuni environ 150 participants, comprenant des membres du CNJC, des représentants de HWPL et des médias. Le thème de cette rencontre était « Les efforts de la société civile pour diffuser l'esprit de paix ».

L'événement a débuté par une introduction soulignant l'importance du sommet. Ndoh Ida Pih, Assistante personnelle de la Présidente Nationale du CNJC, a prononcé un discours inspirant, mettant en lumière l'engagement continu du CNJC à promouvoir la paix et l'éducation à la paix à travers tout le Cameroun. Elle a rappelé le rôle clé du Conseil dans l'autonomisation des jeunes pour qu'ils deviennent des acteurs actifs de la paix dans leurs communautés.

Les principaux objectifs du sommet étaient les suivants :

  1. Célébrer l'anniversaire : Marquer les 10 ans du Sommet mondial pour la paix de HWPL et réfléchir à la volonté mondiale de paix exprimée par les citoyens.

  2. Réfléchir sur les réalisations : Mettre en avant les initiatives de paix menées au Cameroun au cours de l'année écoulée, notamment une marche pour la paix organisée en partenariat avec HWPL le 25 mai 2024.

  3. Présenter l'éducation à la paix HWPL : Introduire l'éducation à la paix comme un mouvement pratique pour inculquer une culture de paix, en particulier chez les jeunes.

Lors de son intervention, Madame E. Lee a insisté sur l'importance de l'éducation à la paix qui, selon elle, commence au sein de la famille. Elle a souligné que les valeurs d'harmonie, de compréhension et de coexistence pacifique doivent être cultivées à la maison, créant ainsi une base solide pour un mouvement de paix plus large au sein de la société.

Tout au long du programme, les participants ont été engagés par des discours percutants, dont une allocution vidéo du Président de HWPL, ainsi qu'une présentation sur l'éducation à la paix HWPL, mettant en évidence le rôle central des jeunes dans la promotion de la paix.

Cet événement n'était pas seulement une commémoration, mais également un appel à l'action. L'un des principaux résultats attendus était d'autonomiser les jeunes à participer activement à la construction de la paix et de porter leurs voix sur la scène mondiale à travers les médias. En outre, le sommet visait à établir un mouvement annuel pour la paix, rassemblant divers acteurs locaux et internationaux unis dans la promotion de la paix.
