On January 17, under the initiative of Subdivisional President Mbi Azeh, the Cameroon National Youth Council of Santa successfully launched its youth activities for the year 2024, focusing on the empowerment of the Santa community.
In preparation for this significant launch, the team of the Cameroon National Youth Council of Santa dedicated themselves to community service. They diligently cleaned a portion of the Santa market and the office of the divisional officer, demonstrating their commitment to the welfare of their community and setting a commendable example for their peers.
The day began with an enriching training on Liquid Soap Production. This session was not merely an educational journey through the basics but a deep dive into advanced techniques, providing the youth with essential skills for personal and economic development. This training marked the beginning of a series of empowerment projects aimed at enhancing the capabilities and prospects of the youth in Santa.
Following the training, the youths of Santa participated in an insightful lesson on Civic Engagement and Mind Education, chaired by the president and falling under the overarching lessons learned by PRONEC RÉAMORCE. This session highlighted the importance of civic responsibilities and encouraged the youth to actively shape the future of their society, fostering a generation of informed and proactive citizens.
As the year unfolds, under the inspiring leadership of National President Miss Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou, the Cameroon National Youth Council is steadfast in its commitment to empower the youth of Cameroon. The council's endeavors in Santa are a testament to its dedication to nurturing a generation that is proactive, skilled, and socially responsible, truly exemplifying the spirit of youth in action. Furthermore, the council's broader initiatives and collaborations paint a comprehensive picture of their dedication to the youth.
The council, in partnership with the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education (MINJEC), is preparing for the upcoming World Youth Camp 2024, scheduled to take place from February 7 to 10 at the Omnisports Stadium and would culminate in a grand gala night. It is open to 5,000 youths and will focus on themes like mind education, PRONEC RÉAMORCE, and entrepreneurship. On February 10, 2024, a Grand REAMORce performance and a youth prayer for peace will begin at 2 pm and are open to the general public. This camp promises a dynamic environment for youth engagement, blending educational and entertaining activities to inspire and motivate young people.
In addition, the YouthConnekt initiative, in collaboration with various organizations including UNDP, UNFPA, and UN Women, has been a beacon of socio-economic empowerment, connecting Cameroonian youth to opportunities and promoting their full civic and political inclusion. Over the past three years, this initiative has achieved remarkable results, such as the creation of over 9,000 jobs, strengthening the capacities of thousands of entrepreneurs, and significantly empowering youth in various sectors.
Moreover, the council celebrates the achievements of young entrepreneurs through initiatives like SIPROME Jeunes, which showcases the creativity and innovations of young Cameroonian entrepreneurs. This platform also serves as a reminder to the youth of their crucial role in contributing to the achievement of the National Development Strategy for 2030.
These initiatives and achievements underscore the Cameroon National Youth Council's unwavering dedication to fostering an environment conducive to the socio-economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and holistic development of Cameroon's youth, thus contributing to the nation's growth and sustainable development.
