Fellow youths of the North West Region!

At this crucial moment in our nation’s democratic journey, the Cameroon National Youth Council North West Region calls on all young people to remain calm, vigilant, and committed to peace, unity, and national stability.

Elections are a process not an end in themselves and our responsibility as patriotic citizens is to allow the institutions in charge to carry out their duties freely and transparently. The roles of the election were known by all actors and as we say in Football... "We don't change the rules when the competition is still ongoing”

We therefore urge all youths to allow the National Vote Counting Commission to complete its work and to remain law-abiding, knowing that ONLY the Constitutional Council has the legal authority to proclaim the final and official results. Impatience or mob reactions will only lead us into unnecessary chaos.

We must learn from our painful past. The ongoing Anglophone crisis began with misinformation, manipulation, and the influence of paid bloggers residing in their comfort zones and divisive voices who took advantage of our frustrations. Today, those same forces seek to plunge the entire nation into confusion for their satanic and selfish gains. Let us not fall into the same trap again my dear youths of the North West Region. We know too well that war is easy to start but difficult to end and in the end, we, the youths, become the greatest losers while the nation remains firm. We should not allow ourselves to be manipulated by some politicians to get ourselves involved into unlawful acts that can cost our lives. Let’s stand firm in our quest to abide to the polls results.

Let us instead focus on building a generation of responsible, peaceful, and visionary young citizens and it’s our responsibility towards the state of Cameroon.

I therefore invite you all to:

As Nelson Mandela once said, “Courageous people do not fear forgiving, for the sake of peace.”

And as John F. Kennedy reminded the world, “Civility is not a sign of weakness, and sincerity is always subject to proof.”

Let these words guide us as we rise above emotion and embrace dialogue, patience, and discipline.

THE CAMEROON NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL NORTH WEST REGION REAFFIRMS ITS UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO PROMOTING PEACE, CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY, AND NATIONAL UNITY. LET US CHANNEL OUR YOUTHFUL ENERGY TOWARD DEVELOPMENT, INNOVATION, AND COMMUNITY PROGRESS AND NOT DESTRUCTION.  

TOGETHER, LET US SHOW THE NATION THAT THE NORTH WEST YOUTH STANDS FOR PEACE, MATURITY, AND PATRIOTISM.
