The Cameroon National Youth Council informs the public that the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education (MINJEC), led by Minister Mounouna Foutsou, has announced the official launch of activities marking the eleven days of celebrations for the 60th anniversary of Cameroon’s Youth Day.

Held under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya, the commemorative activities will be officially launched in Gari-Gombo, in the Boumba-et-Ngoko Division of the East Region. The nationwide celebrations will take place from 1 to 11 February 2026 across the entire national territory.

This landmark edition is organized under the theme:

“Youth at the Heart of Great Hopes, for a United, Stable and Prosperous Cameroon.”

A National Moment of Unity and Youth Engagement

The 60th Youth Anniversary highlights the central role young people play in Cameroon’s present and future. Throughout the eleven days, civic, cultural, educational, and community-focused activities will promote patriotism, national unity, and youth participation in development.

A Call for Youth Mobilization

The Cameroon National Youth Council encourages young people across the country to mobilize widely and actively take part in the various activities planned during this commemorative period. The aim is to make this 60th anniversary not only a celebration, but also a strong moment of civic responsibility, engagement, and renewed hope for the nation’s future.

Building Momentum Toward the National Youth Camp 2026

This national celebration also paves the way for other major youth initiatives, notably the National Youth Camp 2026. The camp will offer young people a platform for leadership development, skills training, and strengthened civic commitment—fully aligned with the spirit of the 60th Youth Anniversary celebrations.
