A Call to Youth Associations and Community Organizations

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education (MINJEC) has officially launched the 2026 National Campaign for Civic Education and National Integration (NCCENI) through a ministerial order setting out the calendar and operational modalities for the year. This nationwide campaign brings together actions that promote civic responsibility, patriotism, peaceful coexistence, and national unity across Cameroon.

The campaign runs throughout the year, under the coordination of civic education committees at regional, divisional, and sub-divisional levels, with the active involvement of youth structures, community organizations, schools, religious bodies, and civil society actors.


KEY NATIONAL DATES AND MOBILIZATION PERIODS

Youth associations and community groups are strongly encouraged to align their activities with the following major national and international dates highlighted in the campaign calendar:

January – February

  • Youth Fortnight (“Youth Onzeine”): 1–11 February 2026

  • National Bilingualism Week: 3–7 February 2026

  • International Mother Tongue Day: 21 February 2026

March

  • International Women’s Day: 1–8 March 2026

  • Commonwealth Day: 12 March 2026

  • International Francophonie Day: 20 March 2026

March – April

  • FENASSCO A & B Games: 28 March – 10 April 2026

May

  • Labour Day: 1 May 2026

  • National Unity Day: 20 May 2026

  • World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development: 21 May 2026

  • World No Tobacco Day: 31 May 2026

June

  • Day of the African Child: 12–16 June 2026

  • International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking: 26 June 2026

July

  • World Youth Skills Day (mid-July)

August

  • International Youth Day: 6–12 August 2026

September

  • International Peace Day: 21 September 2026

October

  • International Day of Rural Women: 15 October 2026

November

  • African Youth Day: 1 November 2026

December

  • International Volunteer Day: 1–5 December 2026

  • Anti-Corruption Day: 9 December 2026


TYPES OF ACTIVITIES ENCOURAGED

Associations are invited to organize and participate in:

  • Civic education talks and awareness sessions

  • Community clean-up and solidarity actions

  • Cultural and inter-community dialogue events

  • School and youth leadership forums

  • Peacebuilding and anti-violence campaigns

  • Campaigns promoting responsible use of social media

  • Volunteer and community service initiatives

These activities may be implemented as Civic Education Operations, Civic Education Caravans, or E-Campaigns on social networks, depending on the context and approval from local civic education committees.

All youth associations and community-based organizations are encouraged to:

  • Contact their Sub-divisional or Divisional Delegations of Youth Affairs and Civic Education

  • Align their annual activity plans with the campaign calendar

  • Seek authorization and collaboration with local Civic Education Committees

  • Document and report their activities to contribute to national impact assessment
