The African Youth Colloquium in Addis Ababa -- Le Colloque de la Jeunesse Africaine à Addis-Abeba

La Présidente du Conseil National de la Jeunesse du Cameroun (CNJC), Mme Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou, a représenté la jeunesse camerounaise au Colloque de la Jeunesse Africaine, tenu du 17 au 19 février 2024 à Addis-Abeba, en Éthiopie. Cet événement majeur, organisé en marge du Sommet des chefs d'État de l'Union africaine, s'est articulé autour du thème : « Éduquer une Afrique prête pour le 21ème siècle ».

Lors de la deuxième session de panel du colloque, une question pressante et critique a été mise en avant : le chômage des jeunes en Afrique. Citant un rapport révélateur de la Banque Africaine de Développement, le panel a mis en lumière le fait alarmant que la moitié de la jeunesse du continent est soit au chômage soit inactive, avec 35 % occupant des emplois vulnérables. Cette discussion a souligné la persistance du chômage des jeunes, mettant en évidence un décalage significatif dans les systèmes éducatifs de l'Afrique, qui ne préparent pas de manière adéquate les jeunes individus au marché du travail.
