Mekom Samuel Taleh heads the National Youth Council in the North West region and also serves as a city councillor for Bamenda City Council. He is recognized for his diverse roles as an entrepreneur, teacher, and pastor.

In his role as regional president, Mekom has proposed ambitious projects aimed at enhancing the lives of young people in the region. These projects focus on job creation, aiming to create significant employment opportunities annually by collaborating with state services and potentially sourcing grants to support youth involvement in sectors like agriculture, livestock, and technology.

Under his leadership, the council has been active in various initiatives, including granting scholarships to university students, advocating for the recruitment of youths, and running campaigns against Gender-Based Violence. Mekom promotes a vision of peace, unity, and regional communion, urging the youth to avoid divisiveness and contribute to nation-building. His administration has also focused on educating youths on peaceful conflict resolution and the dangers of uncivil behaviors such as promiscuity and cyber criminality.
