À propos de vous:

Many years ago, before I came into the awareness of the word ‘communication’ as used in the English language, young Balikey, at 6, already had a talent that would later develop in to a skill. I loved making friends, and with great ease did I achieve that. I believed it was for my sense of humour, but I am always told it is for being selfless, patient in listening, and lavish with my praises and encouragements. The satisfaction I got each time my numerous friends from all backgrounds and ages commended me on how my advises and encouragements improved their self esteem and motivation to succeed, made me to be very interested in people. This lifelong interest has defined my life till this moment.

Academically, my interest in human development related aspects led me to study an undergraduate degree in political science and public administration at the University of Buea, Cameroon. The degree program also helped me to connect the dots between human development, intellectual property, and policy making in society building. The program helped sharpen my knowledge on how socio-economic, political and natural factors affecting human development and the quality of life in our society.

Upon graduating, I secured a job as a Development Expert in a Non Governmental Organisation( NGO) where I embraced several values such as social awareness, ethnic acceptance, tolerance, and cultural identity. As I began, and continued to actively research on how these values affect the various civilisations around the world, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in international development and Cooperation, at Ajou University, South Korea. As an advanced researcher and student of global development patterns and how it shapes our environments, my studies in South Korea have exposed me to the international policies, regulations and conventions that ought to be respected in order to ease the exchange of values, culture, and capital in the global village. Coming from one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse nation in Africa, where tribalism and ethnocentric tendencies tend to mar the development of most communities in particular, and the nation as a whole. This made me to continue working with the same NGO upon my arrival in Cameroon after my studies in South Korea.

Eventually, I became the Cameroon National Youth Council president for Dikome Balue Sub Division, Ndian Division, to continue to promote youth emancipation and exposure to developmental opportunities. Since learning never ends, this made me to dive into studying Product and Project Management, Technical Writing, Cyber Security (Intermediate), Graphic Designing and I’m currently learning Web Development (frontend) and data analysis. This is one thing I love about myself, I love to learn new things and I’m very open, courageous to learn.

The inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary nature of Development and Social Work of the Cameroon National Youth Council, will satisfactorily address pertinent issues such as sustainable development, conflict resolution, cultural diversity and its effects in globalisation, political economy, and global gender trends. This advanced and practical knowledge will set the pace for my envisaged career as a consultanton ethnical integration and development cooperation, in both the national and international scale. Therefore, this will expose me to state-of-the-art research methodology and advanced theoretical knowledge employed in globalization studies in the 21st century, and above all get me new friends, and open several doors of ethnical and cultural acceptance, tolerance, inclusion, and equality.
